We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Marine Stapler to assist in the assembly and finishing of custom marine upholstery and canvas products. This hands-on role involves stapling, stretching, and securing marine-grade materials such as vinyl, canvas, and foam onto custom boat seating, panels, and enclosures. The ideal candidate will have experience with pneumatic staplers and a strong attention to detail to ensure clean, tight, and secure finishes that meet industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use pneumatic and manual staplers to attach marine vinyl, foam, and other materials to wood, plastic, or metal bases
- Stretch and secure fabric to ensure a tight and wrinkle-free fit
- Work closely with sewers and fabricators to complete upholstery and canvas assemblies
- Trim excess material and perform finishing tasks (e.g., applying edge tape or binding)
- Inspect materials for defects or inconsistencies and report any issues to supervisor
- Follow production schedules, templates, and instructions accurately
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
- Keep work area clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
Qualifications:
- Experience in marine or automotive upholstery, carpentry, or a similar hands-on role (preferred)
- Comfortable working with pneumatic staplers and hand tools
- Ability to handle heavy fabrics and materials
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Ability to follow directions and work independently or as part of a team
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move materials for extended periods
- Lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly
- Manual dexterity to operate staplers and hand tools safely and effectively
Preferred but Not Required:
- Knowledge of marine materials such as Sunbrella, foam grades, or vinyl
- Experience working in a boat manufacturing or custom marine fabrication environment
- Understanding of basic upholstery or templating processes
