Journeyman Electrician
Job Description
As the journeyman electrician, you will perform electrical work and inspection on wiring, fixtures, outlets, and other electrical components. You will replace and repair electrical equipment and devices as required. Success in this role will be demonstrated by employing effective process controls to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficient installation and maintenance of electrical systems
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings.
- Installs conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables.
- Ensures piping complies with electrical codes.
- Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them.
- Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
- Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
- Interprets technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems
- Diagnoses and troubleshoots faulty wiring.
- Leads compliance with OSHA and other applicable standards.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to bend conduit.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship.
- Relevant hands-on experience
- Electrician license or certification preferred
- In-depth knowledge of electrical principles, construction, wiring schematics
- Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other safety standards
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
- Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits.

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
