- Own MEP budgets, cost forecasting, change order management, and schedule oversight; proactively identify and mitigate risks to project financial performance
- Drive MEP subcontractor procurement, contract negotiation, scope development, and ongoing performance management
- Serve as the senior MEP point of contact for owners, architects, and engineers, leading technical meetings and facilitating design resolution at a project leadership level
- Review and approve scopes of work, submittals, RFIs, design changes, and construction documents for technical compliance, constructability, and budget impact
- Lead MEP coordination efforts across disciplines, ensuring BIM/clash detection workflows and design intent are maintained throughout construction
- Oversee commissioning planning and execution, ensuring all MEP systems are tested, balanced, and handed over in accordance with contract requirements
- Manage project documentation and reporting — including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and commissioning records — ensuring accuracy and timely communication to stakeholders
- Provide regular MEP status reporting, risk analysis, and performance updates to project executives and ownership groups
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to Field MEP Managers, junior MEP staff and project engineers
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Construction Engineering, or related field required; P.E. or relevant certifications (LEED, CxA, PMP) a plus
- 10+ years of progressive experience managing MEP systems on large-scale commercial construction projects, with a demonstrated track record at the senior project management level
- Deep technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building controls systems, with the ability to lead design and coordination discussions at the project leadership level
- Proven experience managing MEP budgets, subcontractor contracts, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong proficiency with construction management platforms (Procore, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with BIM coordination tools (Navisworks, Revit) preferred
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders across all levels of a project
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects or teams simultaneously and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to risk management
