POLICE OFFICER
Pay Range (Certified Police Officer): $37.85 - $46.39
Starting Pay (Non-Certified): $35.95
The City of Xenia Police Division is accepting non-certified and certified lateral transfer applicants for Police Officer who align with our Division’s Mission. Our Mission is to enhance the quality of life in Xenia, fight for injustice, protect the innocent and provide aid for those who cannot care for themselves, work to prevent, resist and eliminate crime, recognize diversity and foster a relationship of mutual respect, achieve personal and professional excellence, and ethically, consistently, and equitably exercise police powers and discretion.
The Police Division operates on 12-hour shifts.
Certified Lateral Transfer Applicants:
- Currently holds Ohio Peace Officer Training Certificate
- Must have prior experience working as a Police Officer
- Starting pay will be based on prior experience
- Certified Police Officer - $37.85 - $46.39, hourly
- Accept transfer of current sick leave balance
- Accept transfer of up to 80 hours of current vacation leave balance
- OPOTC Certified applicants' starting salary will be evaluated based on experience and previous salary as a full-time Police Officer.
Non-Certified Applicants:
- Do not hold Ohio Peace Officers Training Certificate
- City pays for education and training to obtain required certification
- Must be 21 years old upon completion of the Police Academy
- No certification starts at $35.95, hourly
