Total Care ABA operates an ABA-based Special Purpose Preschool focused on helping young children develop the skills needed for kindergarten readiness and long-term success. Our team combines education and behavioral health services to provide individualized support in a structured, nurturing environment.
Our Special Purpose Preschool in Arundel, Maine is seeking caring, energetic, and reliable Child Care Workers to support young children ages 3–5 with developmental and behavioral needs. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children and are interested in gaining experience in education, early childhood development, special education, or behavioral health.
Child Care Workers provide hands-on support within the classroom and work closely with Special Education Teachers, Educational Technicians, and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs). We provide extensive training and support to help employees grow professionally and develop specialized skills.

Assist children throughout the school day with learning activities, play, and daily routines
Support positive social, communication, and behavioral development
Help maintain a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment
Work one-on-one or in small groups with children as directed by the teaching team
Assist with classroom setup, organization, and cleaning
Support students during transitions, meals, and outdoor activities
Follow behavior support and educational plans developed by the clinical and educational team
Collect basic observational data as directed
Maintain confidentiality of student information
Collaborate with teachers, clinicians, and other team members
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 60 college credits required
Ability to obtain Educational Technician II authorization through the Maine Department of Education
Ability to pass criminal background checks, fingerprinting, and reference checks
Reliable transportation and strong attendance
Previous education and/or experience in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Care, Psychology, Social Services, or a related field
Experience working with young children
Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral challenges
Interest in pursuing a career in education, special education, ABA, or behavioral health
