Provides research services to members as part of a team; instructs members in the use of traditional/electronic reference sources and online public access catalog. Participates in collection maintenance and development; maintains reference and non-fiction collections. Plans and implements adult classes/activities; provides readers’ advisory services; assists with conducting internet/other computer classes to the public.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:
- Master’s Degree in Library Science (MLS) accredited by the American Library Association (ALA).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience working in a public/academic library reference section,
- Experience providing instructions on downloading media,
- Experience presenting programs/instructions to groups,
- Experience using computer/internet/data-based resources,
- Experience providing readers’ advisory services,
- Experience with collection maintenance/development, and
- Bi/trilingual (English/Spanish/Creole).
