Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent knife skills, and experience in fine dining or restaurant environments. This role involves preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the overall kitchen operations to ensure an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure quality and freshness
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety protocols
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper food handling and storage procedures are followed
- Support food presentation and plating to meet fine dining standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Assist in catering events and special meal preparations as needed
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and sanitized
- Follow all health and safety regulations to promote a safe working environment
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning, food service, and catering is preferred
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required
- Fine dining experience is highly desirable
- Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends if necessary
