Outreach & Admissions Manager – Behavioral Health
The Recovery Collective / Active Recovery Network
San Diego, CA | Part-Time to Full-Time
Starting at approximately 20 hours/week, with opportunity to grow to 40 hours/week
$40–$45/hour, depending on experience
About Us
Active Recovery Network (ARN) is a San Diego-based behavioral health organization providing in-home therapeutic coaching, case management, and real-world recovery support for individuals and families navigating mental health, substance use, and other complex behavioral health challenges.
We are currently launching The Recovery Collective (TRC), a structured mental health and recovery residence for adult men in San Diego who need more support, accountability, and community than traditional independent or sober living, but do not require residential treatment.
As we prepare to open TRC, we're looking for an experienced Outreach & Admissions Manager to help us build and eventually lead our referral, outreach, and admissions system.
The Role
This position will start at approximately 20 hours per week with the intention of growing toward a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position for the right person as the role and programs grow.
This is not a traditional sales position.
We're looking for someone who understands the behavioral health community, enjoys building genuine professional relationships, and is excited about helping build a new program from the ground up.
You'll work directly with the founder initially to develop our outreach strategy, organize and expand our referral network, build our CRM and admissions pipeline, and introduce The Recovery Collective to providers throughout San Diego and beyond.
Over time, we want this person to take increasing ownership of outreach, admissions, email marketing, community events, social media, and eventually digital advertising.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build and maintain relationships with psychiatrists, therapists, treatment programs, interventionists, case managers, hospitals, PHP/IOPs, sober livings, and other behavioral health professionals
- Introduce The Recovery Collective and Active Recovery Network to new referral partners
- Reconnect and strengthen relationships with our existing professional network
- Schedule and attend provider meetings, coffees, lunches, facility visits, tours, and community events
- Develop a targeted list of high-value referral partners in San Diego and nationally
- Build and manage our outreach and admissions CRM using Monday.com
- Track referral sources, inquiries, follow-ups, tours, admissions, and outcomes
- Ensure prospective clients and referral sources receive timely and thoughtful follow-up
- Help coordinate consultations, tours, and admissions
- Build segmented professional email campaigns through Mailchimp
- Help develop referral materials, newsletters, program announcements, and educational content
- Coordinate open houses and professional networking events
- Help develop our LinkedIn and social media presence
- Eventually assist with SEO, digital marketing, and paid advertising
- Track outreach activity and results through a simple weekly scorecard
- Help continuously improve our outreach and admissions process based on actual data
Who We're Looking For
We're especially interested in someone with existing experience in behavioral health outreach, admissions, business development, treatment placement, or professional relations.
The right person is organized, personable, proactive, and comfortable working independently.
You should be someone who can walk into a treatment center or psychiatrist's office and comfortably build a relationship—but also come back to the office and make sure the conversation, next step, and follow-up are documented in the CRM.
Experience with mental health and/or substance use treatment is strongly preferred.
Existing relationships within the San Diego behavioral health community are a major plus.
Experience with CRM systems, Monday.com, Mailchimp, social media, digital marketing, or behavioral health admissions is also helpful.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who believes good outreach is about relationships and trust—not aggressive sales.
Schedule & Compensation
- Starting at approximately 20 hours per week
- Opportunity to grow to 40 hours per week/full-time for the right candidate
- Primarily San Diego-based
- Flexible schedule with a combination of remote work, office work, community outreach, and professional meetings
- Starting at $35-$40/hour depending on experience
- Opportunity for performance-based bonuses
- Significant opportunity for the position and responsibilities to grow as The Recovery Collective and Active Recovery Network expand
What Success Looks Like
During the first 90 days, you'll work closely with our founder to build the outreach infrastructure, organize our existing referral network, introduce TRC to the San Diego behavioral health community, and establish a consistent system for generating and following up with qualified referrals.
Longer term, success means building a trusted referral network and a predictable admissions pipeline that keeps The Recovery Collective consistently occupied while continuing to grow Active Recovery Network.
We care much more about meaningful relationships, qualified referrals, and appropriate admissions than the number of emails or cold calls someone makes.
Why This Role Is Different
This is an opportunity to get involved at the beginning of something we're building intentionally.
You'll have significant input into how our outreach and admissions system is designed rather than simply inheriting someone else's process.
We're looking for someone who wants to help us build the system, grow with it, and ultimately take ownership of it.
For the right person, our goal is for this to develop from a 20-hour-per-week position into a meaningful full-time leadership role as the programs grow.
If you have behavioral health outreach experience, strong relationships in the treatment community, and are interested in helping launch a new mental health recovery residence in San Diego, we'd love to hear from you.
To apply, please send your resume along with a brief note describing your experience in behavioral health outreach, admissions, or business development and any existing relationships you have within the San Diego behavioral health community.
