ABOUT: Ho-Ho-Kus, Inc. is a growing company, and we are looking for you to grow with us! We are an AS9100 Aerospace company producing aircraft components and we are seeking a CNC Machinist to join our workforce in the CNC department. The position is full-time, M-F.
SCOPE: Responsible for the setting up and operating CNC machines and lathes.
REPORTS TO: Mfg Manager
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and run milling equipment including; CNC, CNC lathe, and Swiss Screw Machines, with minimal supervision.
- Monitor CNC milling and turning machine to specifications on inspection sheets/prints.
- Knowledge of all standard measuring equipment including the proper use of micrometers, calipers, comparators and various plug/thread gauges as well as blueprint reading.
- Perform full inspection, follow and complete inspection sheets to maintain tolerances according to specifications on prints.
- Proven ability to trouble shoot basic machine, tooling and program issues.
- Employee must always work in a safe manner while running equipment and moving or cutting product.
- Work with others in a team setting by sharing responsibilities, such as running multiple CNC machines & manual equipment simultaneously.
- Effectively communicate with supervisor and co-workers.
- Work in a safe manner at all times while adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain the tool inventory, order tools and machinery inventory parts.
- Maintain and secure work tools.
- Clean and maintain work area.
- Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
- Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on machinery.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Conceptual Skills (Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills) required.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Verbal communication
- Attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND TRAINING:
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment. Work involves frequent lifting of materials up to 30 pounds. Machinery and tool operation require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
