Garner UMC Preschool is half-day preschool for children ages 2 to Pre-K. School hours are 9:20 am to 1:00, Monday to Friday. School year runs Sept - May. We offer a fun, safe and Christian environment for children to learn, play and grow!
## Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Teacher to join our outstanding team at Garner UMC Preschool. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childhood development and a love for educating young children during these formative preschool years.
## Responsibilities
- Create and implement engaging lesson plans that promote the intellectual and social development of preschool children ages 2 to 5.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Utilize various teaching methods to ensure all students are learning effectively
- Monitor and assess student progress to provide feedback to parents
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment
- Incorporate physical education and other extracurricular activities into the curriculum
## Requirements
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices
- Familiarity with early intervention teaching methods is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create a supportive and encouraging classroom environment
- Certification in Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred
