Construction Laborer Job Description
Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable, hard-working Construction Laborer to join our field team. In this role, you will handle the vital, hands-on day-to-day operations that keep our jobsites safe, clean, and moving forward efficiently.
This is an entry-to-mid-level position perfect for someone with a strong work ethic, physical stamina, and a desire to build a career in the construction industry. You will work alongside skilled tradespeople (carpenters, masons, electricians) and have ample opportunity to learn on the job.
Key Responsibilities
- Site Preparation & Cleanup: Clear debris, dig holes, trim and plant trees and shrubs. Remove trash and clean up site daily.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and organize construction materials, tools, and heavy equipment arriving on site.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate basic hand and power tools (e.g. drills, grinders, concrete mixers, saws).
- Project Support: Conduct tasks like mixing mortar, pouring concrete, erecting scaffolding, and positioning structural components.
- Safety Compliance: Strict adherence to site safety guidelines, OSHA regulations, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or general physical labor is preferred but not required—we will train the right candidate.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to perform strenuous physical labor for 8+ hours a day, including lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, bending, kneeling, and climbing.
- Environmental Resilience: Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, light rain).
- Skills: Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and a solid understanding of verbal instructions.
- Logistics: Reliable transportation to and from assigned jobsites. A valid driver’s license and your own vehicle are a strong plus.
- Teamwork: A positive attitude, strong reliability, and the ability to work well as part of a crew.
Work Environment & Benefits
- Job Type: Full-time
- Schedule: Typically Monday to Friday, early morning start times (e.g., 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM); occasional overtime depending on project deadlines.
- Compensation: $24.00/hour
