Maintenance Professional /Handyman/Construction
Job Summary:
Looking for skilled home maintenance professionals with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in residential trouble shooting and maintenance work. The ideal candidate is looking for an opportunity to either continue or build a career in Residential maintenance and general contracting services while helping our team grow our Subscription and construction divisions.
In this role, we expect all our team members to deliver professional and exceptional quality work to our clients through a well-established residential maintenance subscription program. The heart of our program involves maintenance and troubleshooting of residential core areas:
- HVAC Systems including Ducting, filters and airflow
- Water heaters
- Safety systems
- Electrical systems and panels
- Roof and gutter maintenance
- Water management
- Home Appliances
- General Plumbing
- Caulking and Weather proofing
- Decks, porches, walkways
- Decorative Finishes
- Doors and Windows
- Air and Water Filtration
- Mold and Water intrusion detection
We expect our team members to be professional with our clients; be willing to learn about our program and deliver excellent quality work; possess the ability to always be learning something new; and be able to work within our software and administrative systems.
In this position you will work primarily on residential projects and will be required to always follow the company safety regulations. You will collaborate with the Maintenance and Construction team supervised by the Director of Operations & Projects.
Part Time On-Call position availability. Limited benefits are associated with this position, and Hourly wage is commensurate with experience and qualifications in this field of work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Onsite Maintenance and Construction Service delivery (90%)
- Deliver inspection and repair services from a 250 -Point seasonal checklist quarterly as part of our annual maintenance subscription.
- Photographing job progress and noting findings during inspections and servicing.
- General construction and repairs: Carpentry, Drywall, Painting, Waterproofing and more.
- Ability to collaborate with our in-house team, subcontractors, journeymen, and supervisors to complete projects.
Office Work: (10%)
- Posting Work Hours Daily within our electronic reporting systems.
- Learn and utilize service software including populating service reports with photos and notes from each maintenance visit either on a mobile phone app or iPad.
- Learn and utilize Google Suite for scheduling and communications.
Job Requirements:
Education & Experience
- Completion of a vocational construction/carpentry program or apprenticeship preferred.
- A minimum of 5- years of experience in residential maintenance and construction.
- Proven track record of successful projects, employer references and possible client referrals.
- OSHA Safety Certification is preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of industry measurement, hand, and power tools.
- Demolition
- Residential maintenance and handyman troubleshooting and repairs.
- Final Clean up after maintenance and construction projects.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Able to work with little supervision.
- Punctual and follow established regulations and advocate for safety on each worksite.
- Professional appearance and manner appropriate to represent the company to clients and vendors.
- Basic Computer and Technical Skills
Knowledge:
- Experience with home maintenance inspections, troubleshooting and repairs.
- Experience and basic knowledge of residential construction, trades, and OSHA Safety
- Knowledge of Green Building practices would be a bonus
Physical:
- Able to drive
- Good physical condition, stamina, and dexterity for lifting equipment and working at various heights and in tight spaces.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Able to climb ladders and work outside including roof work.
Other:
- Valid California driver’s license and be insurable by the company for use of company vehicles.
- Legal documentation to work in the United States.
- English language skills.
- Have access to a working vehicle and generally be available between 8-5pm weekdays
- No record of any theft-related crime or felony.
- Due to many clients that have chemical and environmental sensitivities, we require that our crew does not wear fragrances or use fragrant soaps, detergents, or strongly scented personal care products on workdays.
- Have your own trade tools.
- Familiarity and experience using QuickBooks timesheet software.
- Experience with a Computer and Microsoft Office suite software (Word and Excel)
- Experience with iPad and smartphone.
