We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Water Mitigation Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and managing water damage situations, implementing effective mitigation strategies, and ensuring properties are restored to their pre-damaged condition. This position requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and strong customer service abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment: Inspect properties to assess the extent of water damage and identify moisture sources, utilizing moisture meters and other diagnostic tools.
- Water Extraction: Operate water extraction equipment to remove standing water from affected areas.
- Drying and Dehumidification: Set up drying equipment, including dehumidifiers and air movers, to restore optimal moisture levels in the environment.
- Remediation: Perform various mitigation tasks to prevent further damage, including sanitizing and disinfecting affected areas.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of damage assessments, work performed, and materials used, updating clients and management as needed.
- Customer Service: Communicate effectively with clients, explaining processes, timelines, and next steps in the mitigation process.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Team Collaboration: Work as part of a team, collaborating with other technicians, project managers, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project completion.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications in water damage restoration or mitigation preferred.
- Previous experience in water mitigation, restoration, or a related field is advantageous.
- Familiarity with water extraction and drying equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting heavy equipment and working in tight spaces.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
