Duties
- Supervise school-aged children during before and after-school hours, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment
- Lead engaging activities that promote learning, creativity, sportsmanship, and teamwork based on age-appropriate curricula
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and effective behavior management strategies
- Assist with homework help, tutoring, or educational projects to support academic development
- Maintain clear communication with parents, guardians, and team members regarding children's progress and needs
- Follow all safety protocols including first aid procedures, CPR/AED operation, and emergency response plans to ensure child safety at all times
- Support children with special education needs by implementing individualized plans and accommodations as required
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques (or willingness to learn)
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive environment
- Ability to engage children through creative activities such as sports coaching, or arts and crafts
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to working with diverse youth populations
