Supervise, assign, train, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for performing a variety of City surveying; ensure work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures and perform the more technical and complex tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Associate's degree from an accredited college, university, or technical/vocational school in field surveying, engineering, drafting, or GIS; and
Five (5) years of field surveying experience; and
To include one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience.
Professional Surveyor Intern Certification preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Environmental:
Office environment; Field environment; exposure to computers; travel from site to site; exposure to traffic, fumes, dust, inclement weather conditions and noise; operating motorized equipment and vehicles.
Physical:
Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for walking, standing, or sitting for prolonged periods; repeated bending; operating motorized equipment and vehicles, lifting and carrying of survey equipment.
