Florida Drawbridges, Inc. (FDI), a leader in movable bridge operations, maintenance, and asset management, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee bridge maintenance activities and field operations.
The Operations Manager will provide leadership and direction to maintenance crews responsible for the repair, inspection, troubleshooting, and operation of movable bridge systems. This position will coordinate daily field activities, supervise personnel, ensure safe work practices, and support reliable operation of critical transportation infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading maintenance teams, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems, managing field operations, and working with transportation agencies, contractors, and engineers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide daily leadership and supervision of bridge maintenance field operations
- Manage, mentor, and support Bridge Mechanics, Electrical Technicians, and field personnel
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and emergency response activities
- Assign work, monitor progress, and ensure completion of maintenance requirements
- Review work orders, reports, schedules, and maintenance documentation
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, contract requirements, and quality standards
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and clients
- Support employee training, scheduling, and workforce development
- Assist with emergency repairs and restoration of bridge operations
QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of experience in infrastructure maintenance, industrial maintenance, or related field operations
- 8+ years of experience supervising technical teams or field crews
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance documents
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and work order management
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a field environment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work outdoors and travel between job sites
- Ability to respond to emergency maintenance needs and provide on-call support as required
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Must be able to pass a drug test at any time
- Must pass a criminal background check
