The Unit Nurse Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily clinical operations of an assigned unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality resident care, supervising nursing staff, and promoting regulatory compliance and operational excellence. This role serves as a key leader within the nursing team and works closely with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff.
Lead, supervise, and support nursing staff providing direct resident care.
Ensure high standards of clinical practice and quality outcomes on the assigned unit.
Participate in staff coaching, education, and professional development.
Complete and maintain accurate resident assessments, documentation, and care plans.
Monitor resident conditions and coordinate appropriate interventions.
Assist with the development and implementation of individualized care plans.
Supervise and support Clinical Nurses, Licensed Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants.
Coordinate staffing schedules to maintain appropriate unit coverage.
Monitor compliance with documentation standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary teams to address concerns and promote resident satisfaction.
Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and retention of nursing team members.
Serve as a preceptor and complete required Preceptor Training.
Identify opportunities to improve clinical processes, resident outcomes, and team performance.
Promote a culture of accountability, compassion, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Current, active, and unencumbered RN or LPN license in the state of practice.
Minimum of one (1) year of nursing leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to lead teams effectively and foster a positive work environment.
Three (3) or more years of nursing experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or similar healthcare setting.
Experience managing staff schedules, regulatory compliance, and resident care outcomes.
