JOB SUMMARY
Abbott-Action Inc., a well-established corrugated packaging manufacturer, is looking for dependable, safety-minded 1st Shift CDL Class A Drivers to join our expanding team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a tractor-trailer to transport corrugated sheets, packaging materials, and finished products to customer locations across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and nearby areas. Drivers are expected to comply with all DOT regulations, adhere to company policies, and maintain a professional and customer-focused demeanor at all times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer in accordance with federal, state, and company guidelines.
- Perform local deliveries and pickups of corrugated materials and packaged goods.
- Load and unload cargo or assist with loading/unloading as needed.
- Review and confirm load accuracy before departure, ensuring proper securement and documentation.
- Verify delivery quantities during unloading when required by customers.
- Follow assigned routes while complying with all traffic laws, safety protocols, and client instructions.
- Collect required signatures on shipping documents and promptly return completed paperwork to the Shipping Office.
- Accurately complete daily records, including driver logs, timecards, inspection reports, and delivery documentation.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, including checking fluids, tires, and overall equipment condition.
- Report any maintenance issues immediately and support preventative maintenance efforts.
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean and well-maintained.
- Adhere to all Abbott-Action safety policies and procedures.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned by management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid CDL Class A License that meets all DOT medical and physical standards
- Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing substance-abuse testing per company policy
- Must maintain DOT qualification and a satisfactory driving record
- Demonstrated ability to work safely, follow directions, and represent the company professionally
Preferred:
- Experience in the corrugated packaging or manufacturing industry
- Prior delivery experience in urban or high-traffic environments
- Forklift experience or previous forklift certification

- Monday to Friday
