This specific position will be for our Jackson Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education program working with children ages birth to 3 years old through home visiting. This position is located in Medford and works 190 days per year, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day to begin in the 2026-27 school year. This position includes using routines-based intervention practices, collaborating closely with families and community partners, participating in eligibility evaluations, and serving as a collaborative member of the Early Intervention service team.DUTIES: This is not an exhaustive or all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, duties or functions associated with the job. Work within an interdisciplinary teaming model to support young children with developmental delays and disabilities and their families.Provide educational consultation to EI/ECSE teams and community partners in the areas of special education, behavior support, instructional strategies and materials, child progress monitoring, and general problem-solving.Assist parents, caregivers, and community partners, as appropriate, in implementing instructional strategies and programs developed in collaboration with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other service providers.Follow EI/ECSE intake and referral processes and conduct necessary developmental and educational assessments, as assigned.Provide consultation regarding child behavior and coach parents and caregivers in positive behavior support strategies.Complete required reports, IFSP documentation, progress notes, and other required forms accurately and in a timely manner.Serve as a liaison between the EI/ECSE program and Head Start, community preschools, childcare providers, local school districts, and other community partners.Order, use, and maintain appropriate program materials and equipment.Collect and record data on childrens progress toward IFSP outcomes and instructional goals. Maintain required electronic records and database systems for individual children.Design, coordinate, and provide direction for activities implemented by instructional assistants and volunteers, as assigned.Assist EI/ECSE teams with child transitions within the EI/ECSE program and transitions from EI/ECSE to public school programs.Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team in child eligibility determination decisions.Support EI/ECSE teams in determining appropriate natural environments, service locations, and educational settings.Serve as an educational consultant for selected children enrolled in home, community, preschool, and childcare settings.Attend staff meetings and serve on committees, advisory groups, or workgroups as needed or assigned.Assist with interdisciplinary team discussions and service planning for children determined eligible for EI/ECSE services.Maintain the ability to work a flexible schedule and travel to and from program, school, home, and community locations within the Douglas ESD service area.
Overnight travel may be required.Perform other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSBachelors degree in early childhood education, special education or a related field.Ability to possess or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment an Oregon TSPC license with EI/ECSE or related field endorsement.Douglas ESD has been awarded the Douglas County Working Parents Award for 2026.
