“I have nothing but good things to write about Albuquerque Cat Clinic” – Google review
Opened in 2004 by Dr. Walker, we have had the opportunity to create a team we all want to be a part of. In Dr. Walker’s own words, “it has been so exciting, scary, and rewarding to watch the practice grow from one employee to a dozen. I am so proud of the staff we have built, and feel so lucky to have so many wonderful clients and patients that have helped us weather the good and bad times.”
We are seeking an experienced, team-oriented veterinary receptionist who thrives in a busy environment and understands the important role the front desk plays in creating an exceptional experience for both clients and patients. The ideal candidate is compassionate, dependable, organized, and confident communicating with clients in a variety of situations—from welcoming a new puppy or kitten to helping a worried pet owner navigate an urgent concern. We welcome candidates who possess:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 4+ years of customer service experience (required)
- 2+ years of veterinary receptionist experience (required)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a warm, professional approach
- Experience managing a multi-line phone system and prioritizing incoming calls
- Confidence appropriately triaging patient concerns both by phone and in person
- Experience processing payments, reviewing invoices, and accurately managing financial transactions
- Ability to efficiently coordinate patient check-in, admission, discharge, and appointment flow
- Experience maintaining accurate digital records using Covetrus Pulse and Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of common veterinary medications and heartworm, flea, tick, and parasite prevention products
- Familiarity with DEA, OSHA, and veterinary workplace compliance standards
- Strong organizational, time-management, multitasking, and attention-to-detail skills
- Ability to remain composed and professional when navigating emotionally charged or stressful client interactions
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to support the team wherever needed
- Commitment to compassionate service, patient advocacy, and clear client education
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted and sit, stand, bend, and move throughout the practice for extended periods
- Comfort working in a clinical environment with exposure to noise, odors, animal waste, infectious diseases, and the potential for bites or scratches
