Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming, dressing, hygiene, and meal preparation to promote independence and well-being.
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each individual’s needs, supporting positive behaviors and addressing challenging situations with patience and consistency.
- Support communication efforts using various methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), verbal cues, or alternative communication devices to ensure effective interaction.
- Facilitate participation in community outings, recreational activities, and social events to promote social skills and community integration.
- Collect and document data related to progress, behaviors, medication administration, and other relevant information accurately for ongoing care planning.
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols while maintaining safety standards.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health regulations, safety procedures, and emergency protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, or behavioral health needs is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of special education principles and behavior management techniques is advantageous.
- Previous home & community care experience or caregiving background is desirable.
- Ability to drive safely and reliably for transportation needs related to client outings or appointments.
- Familiarity with data collection methods related to client progress or behavioral tracking.
- Compassionate attitude with excellent interpersonal skills to build trusting relationships with clients and their families.

Pay: From $17.50 per hour
