Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial trailers, including welding (aluminum and steel), ABS system diagnostics, tire and wheel seal work, and full compliance with DOT regulations and manufacturer torque specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform welding repairs on aluminum and steel trailer components
- Diagnose and repair trailer ABS systems and related electrical issues
- Conduct tire changes, wheel seal replacements, and related undercarriage work
- Follow all manufacturer torque specifications and proper procedures on every repair
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure DOT compliance
- Complete accurate service records and documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Collaborate with other shop personnel and report any safety or compliance concerns
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Shop Supervisor or Terminal Manager
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Trailer Mechanic or similar role working on commercial trailers
- Strong skills in welding both aluminum and steel
- Ability to diagnose and repair trailer ABS systems
- Experience with tire changes, wheel seals, and undercarriage components
- Solid knowledge of DOT regulations and inspection requirements
- Strict adherence to torque specifications and manufacturer guidelines
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver’s license preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed
Pay: $21.67 - $23.16 per hour
