Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner to understand their preferences and recommend drinks or menu items accordingly.
- Maintain knowledge of current beverage trends, recipes, and techniques to offer creative drink options and develop new beverage recipes.
- Process cash transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, handling cash, credit cards, and tabs efficiently.
- Ensure all food safety standards are met by adhering to proper food handling procedures and maintaining cleanliness of the bar area.
- Manage bar inventory by monitoring stock levels, restocking supplies, and placing orders as needed to prevent shortages.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff and management to coordinate service during busy hours and special events like banquets or catering functions.
- Uphold responsible alcohol service policies by checking IDs and recognizing signs of intoxication to promote guest safety.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of mixology techniques, cocktail recipes, wine varieties, craft beer styles, and spirits.
- Experience with POS systems (experience with platforms like Aloha, MicroSale, Toast, or similar systems preferred).
- Strong time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently during peak hours.
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to create engaging guest interactions that enhance the overall experience.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures within the food service industry.
- Previous restaurant or fine dining experience is highly desirable; banquet or catering experience is a plus.
- Ability to develop new beverage recipes creatively while maintaining consistency in presentation and taste.
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and managing tabs accurately.
- Knowledge of hospitality industry standards related to bar management, alcohol regulations, and responsible service practices.
- Ability to stand, walk, and maintain mobility throughout an 8-hour shift.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle a minimum of 20 lbs regularly.
