A leading applied technology organization focused on advanced manufacturing innovation is seeking a Manufacturing Simulation Engineer to support digital manufacturing, automation, and simulation initiatives.
This role focuses on developing high-fidelity simulations and digital twins of manufacturing systems, supporting production optimization, and accelerating the adoption of advanced technologies. The position works closely with engineering teams and external stakeholders to design, validate, and improve automated and robotic systems.
Develop 3D simulations and digital twins of manufacturing systems, robotic work cells, and automation processes
Build and configure virtual models including robots, tooling, conveyors, sensors, and automation equipment
Perform cycle time analysis, throughput studies, ergonomic evaluations, and collision detection
Support R&D initiatives, customer projects, and technology demonstrations
Import and optimize CAD models for simulation environments
Develop reusable simulation templates, libraries, and standardized tools
Collaborate with engineering teams and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver simulation-driven solutions
Prepare and present simulation results, reports, and technical documentation
Support virtual commissioning by integrating simulations with PLC and robot logic when applicable
Provide technical support through meetings, training sessions, and customer engagement
Ensure compliance with safety procedures and operational standards
Perform additional duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Robotics, Systems Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
4+ years of experience in manufacturing simulation, robotics simulation, digital twin development, or automation engineering
Hands-on experience with simulation tools such as Visual Components, Siemens Plant Simulation, or Process Simulate
Strong understanding of manufacturing systems, robotics, and automation workflows
Experience developing simulation logic, robot paths, and system sequences
Ability to analyze cycle times, throughput, and system performance
Working knowledge of CAD and 3D model integration
Strong technical documentation and communication skills
U.S. citizenship required to meet regulatory compliance requirements
Advanced degree in engineering or related field
Experience with industrial robotics (ABB, FANUC, KUKA, Yaskawa, etc.)
Familiarity with PLC logic, OPC UA, or virtual commissioning workflows
Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies and Industry 4.0 systems
Experience supporting customer-facing engineering or technical programs
This is a full-time role in an office and lab environment, requiring extended periods of computer-based simulation work. Occasional travel to customer or production sites may be required.
