The purpose of the Outpatient Registration Clerk is to obtain accurate information in a professional, respectful and timely manner from patients/guardians who are seeking service from Great Plains Regional Medical Center
Outpatient Registration Job Responsibilities:

Perform a range of clerical duties that support the operations of the Business Office

Acts as a Receptionist greeting and directing patients, visitors to the areas they are seeking

Receiving and registering patients who are coming to our facility for Clinical, Same Day Surgery and Admissions services.

Confirming the service the patient is expecting to receive
- When Registering the information is asked of the patient so they tell you the information you need based off their demographic: SS#, DOB, NAME, ADDRESS, PHONE NUMBERS, EMPLOYMENTS WITH ADDRESS, NEXT OF KIN AND PERSON TO NOTIFY
- Taking calls from other Departments to transfer or admit a patient
- Obtaining copies of photo id and insurance cards

Same Day Surgery completing the Green Folders

Admissions completing the Blue Folders

If there is an Estimation sheet, explaining to the patient what it mean

Collection of Copays and Estimations

Explaining to the patient about an Advance Directive

Giving Patients who have not been at facility for a year a new Patients’ Rights and Bill of Rights

Explaining to a patient/guardian what type of bills to expect such as:

If the patient is having a service performed in Radiology the bill will be for the facility charge, the actual service and another charge for the Radiologist to read the film
