Duties
- Operate the cash register and POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately.
- Handle cash drawer management with precision, ensuring proper cash handling and balancing at shift end.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos.
- Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and maintaining store cleanliness to enhance product visibility.
- Engage customers through upselling and suggestive selling to maximize sales opportunities while promoting store products.
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers over the phone.
- Assist with inventory management tasks such as stock replenishment and product knowledge sharing to improve overall store presentation.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in retail sales or grocery store environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are key!
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash register operations is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer needs.
- Proven ability to handle cash handling procedures accurately and responsibly.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude.
- Basic math skills for retail math calculations such as making change and balancing cash drawers.
- Supervising experience or leadership skills are advantageous for supporting team efforts during busy periods.
