We are looking for an experienced body painter with strong painting and visual-design skills. Makeup artists, painters, illustrators, graphic designers, and other visual artists are welcome to apply if they have prior body-painting experience and a portfolio showing that work.
This position is specifically for body painting, not a face-painting-only role. The artist must be comfortable creating designs on areas including the arms, shoulders, and back. Projects may call for neon designs, wings, butterflies, graphic patterns, fantasy-inspired artwork, and other detailed body-art concepts.
Responsibilities

- Execute concepts such as neon designs, wings, butterflies, graphic artwork, and other detailed body-painting designs
- Work from mood boards, reference images, production concepts, or creative direction
- Translate graphic designs and visual concepts into body art
- Prepare designs or sketches before productions when needed
- Work efficiently within scheduled production times
- Collaborate with photographers, videographers, artists, stylists, creative directors, and other production team members
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace
- Properly prepare and clean painting tools and supplies before and after use
- Follow appropriate hygiene and sanitation practices when working directly with people

- Strong painting, illustration, and visual-design skills
- Ability to paint larger body areas, including arms, shoulders, and backs
- Ability to recreate reference artwork and execute original concepts
- Understanding of color, composition, shapes, patterns, and visual design
- Ability to work carefully and professionally with models, performers, and other human subjects
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow creative direction
- Ability to work in person at the location of the event, music video, photoshoot, content shoot, or other production
- Ability to travel to assigned production locations throughout the Los Angeles area
- Reliable transportation to assigned production locations
- Flexibility to accept production assignments based on project scheduling
Paints & Supplies
Applicants should already have access to the professional body-painting tools and supplies they normally use for their work. Applicants will not be asked to purchase products or equipment as a condition of applying for the position. Any production-specific specialty-material requirements will be discussed before an assignment.
All products used directly on skin must be specifically intended and appropriate for body or cosmetic use. Artists are expected to maintain clean and sanitary brushes, applicators, palettes, and other equipment.
Relevant Backgrounds
Experienced body painters, makeup artists, painters, illustrators, graphic designers, and visual artists are encouraged to apply if they have demonstrated experience creating artwork on the human body.
A portfolio showing prior body-painting work is required. Applicants should include examples demonstrating their ability to paint designs on areas such as the arms, shoulders, and back. Examples of neon artwork, wings, butterflies, fantasy designs, graphic patterns, or similarly detailed body art are especially relevant.
