Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in need of personal care and daily living support. This vital role involves fostering a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for residents or clients, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social well-being. As a Caregiver, you will play a key part in enhancing quality of life through attentive care, active engagement, and personalized support tailored to each individual's needs. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives while working within a dynamic and supportive team. We are currently looking to fill an 3-11pm position.
Duties
- Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts
- Monitor patients’ vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; observe for any changes in health status or behavior
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and preferences; ensure proper meal presentation and timely service
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light housekeeping tasks including laundry, bed making, and sanitation, to promote a safe environment
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and facility policies
- Support patients with specialized needs such as dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities through tailored activities and compassionate interaction
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet each resident’s unique requirements
- Ensure safety during patient transfers using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts or residents’ <PERSON>; assist with mobility exercises as directed
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being within home & community care settings
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, group homes, or home health environments preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring
- Hands-on experience with medication administration, care planning, and documentation procedures
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality of patient information
- Experience providing dementia care, memory support, hospice care or working with individuals with disabilities such as autism or developmental delays is highly valued
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for resident transfers or mobility assistance
- Strong understanding of infection control practices, including cleaning protocols and hygiene standards in healthcare settings
- Certifications such as CPR/First Aid are highly desirable; ongoing training in nursing or social work fields is a plus
