Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Over-the-Road (OTR) Driver or Owner Operator and take on the exciting challenge of delivering freight across long distances with professionalism and precision. In this role, you will operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, ensuring timely and safe deliveries while adhering to all federal and state regulations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmissions, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, across designated routes.
- Load and unload freight using proper manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while complying with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Handle hazardous materials and dangerous goods following all safety protocols and hazardous materials regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, inspections, and deliveries in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Load and secure cargo properly on flatbeds or other trailers to prevent shifting during transit; ensure cargo is compliant with logistics cargo handling standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route changes, delivery updates, or issues encountered on the road.
- Adhere strictly to safety policies during load & unload procedures and when handling freight.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements for manual transmission operation.
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving over long distances in various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or roll-off trucks.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for dangerous goods handling.
- Experience with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and execution.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely during load & unload operations; forklift certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with logistics cargo handling procedures for freight transportation across different trailer types.
- Excellent driving record demonstrating safe driving habits over time in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Physical ability to perform duties that involve lifting heavy freight or equipment as needed during loading or unloading processes.
