This is a full-time or part-time position requiring early morning start times (typically back by 2-4pm) Monday through Friday. Start times of shift will vary each day but may vary from 3AM-6AM. This driver will report directly to the Operations Dept Manager as well as working with an Operations Dept Clerk daily.
Duties
- Make each delivery stop per assigned route.
- Following traffic laws and driving in a safe, courteous manner, including obeying all regularly agency and company safety directives and conducting a safe work zone during each job.
- Logging miles, driving hours and other activities, especially as required to maintain compliance with federal and state laws.
- Managing fuel needs and ensuring vehicles are properly fueled.
- Navigating or managing routes via GPS and other in-field technology provided by the company.
- Performing inspections to ensure the vehicle and cargo are safe, in working condition and aligned with laws and regulations.
- Following the assigned delivery schedule and all job directives precisely.
- Gathering appropriate paperwork for deliveries; ensuring accuracy of items for delivery.
- Delivering product as per customer requirements in the most expeditious and courteous manner, obtain signatures and completing all required paperwork.
- Accepting returns from customer, complete appropriate paperwork and return to warehouse. Place product in return area with appropriate documentation.
- Avoiding damaging job site property (particularly driveways) when unloading materials. Document and report any damage to products, customer’s property or to delivery truck.
- Addressing and resolving customer problems as appropriate. Informing supervisor of outstanding issues.
- Maintaining daily pre-trip and trip log book as required by company policy.
- Maintaining cleanliness of vehicle and report any maintenance problems to supervisor.
Qualifications
- A valid Class B driver’s license with ability to pass a driver screening upon hire and each year.
- Detail-oriented with good critical thinking skills.
- Ability to communicate in an effective and friendly way with dispatchers, customers, and others.
- Must be able to complete mathematical calculations associated with truck load weights and quantities.
- Must be able to read and write load diagrams, shipping orders, work instructions and various business communication documents.
- Must be able to operate electronic equipment, such as RF scanners or radios as assigned.
- Must be 21 or older.
- The ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50lb in keeping with your loading and unloading requirements.
- The ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Strong navigation and problem-solving skills related to route management.
- High school diploma/GED equivalent required.
- Must be registered with FMCSA.
- A few years experience preferred, entry-level CDL driver accepted if has prior job history behind the wheel (such as a food delivery driver). Successful candidates will be required to pass a post offer, physical, pre-employment drug screen and alcohol check upon hire and on an ongoing basis.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
