Responsibilities
- Safely administer prescribed medications to residents or patients following all state healthcare regulations and facility policies
- Monitor vital signs, assess patient responses to medication, and report any adverse reactions promptly
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or similar platforms
- Assist residents with personal care needs, including hygiene, mobility, and activities of daily living, ensuring dignity and respect
- Support residents with specialized care requirements such as Alzheimer's, dementia, memory care, or hospice needs
- Follow strict HIPAA guidelines to maintain patient confidentiality at all times
- Collaborate with nursing staff and healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans
Qualifications
- Valid certification as a Medication Technician
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care settings
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures
- Experience working with geriatric patients and individuals with developmental disabilities or memory impairments
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks and heavy lifting safely while maintaining resident safety
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as PCC a plus or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
