We are excited to offer a part-time paid (20-hour per week) opportunity for a Native Radio Production and Digital Media enthusiast to join our team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in radio production while also contributing to our online presence through social media management and video production. We are especially eager to interview someone who is specifically interested in sports and potentially having their own sports talk show.
Key Responsibilities:
Radio Production Assistance:
● Assist in setting up equipment for radio broadcasts and recordings.
● Learn to operate audio recording and editing software to ensure high-quality sound production.
● Collaborate with producers and hosts to assist with scripts, music, and sound effects for live shows and pre-recorded segments.
● Gain experience in monitoring live broadcasts and troubleshooting technical issues as needed.
● Contribute ideas to enhance the quality and appeal of radio content.
Social Media Management:
● Assist in executing social media strategies to improve our station's online presence.
● Create engaging content for various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) to promote radio shows, events, and station news.
● Monitor social media channels for audience engagement, respond to comments and messages, and help build a listener community.
● Learn to analyze social media performance metrics and suggest improvements.
Video Production:
● Participate in the planning and shooting of video content, including interviews, promotional videos, and behind-the-scenes footage.
● Gain basic skills in video editing software to assist in post-production tasks.
● Collaborate with the radio marketing team to contribute to video content aligned with the station's branding and promotional goals.
● Stay updated on video production trends and technologies to enhance video quality.
Administrative Support:
● Assist in maintaining organized records of audio files, production schedules, and social media content calendars.
● Assist in recording and uploading underwriting spots.
● Support the team with scheduling, booking guests, and managing logistical aspects of radio shows.
● Assist with equipment and supplies management for radio production and video shoots.
● Provide general administrative support as required.Other duties as assigned and agreed upon.
Qualifications:
● Has or is currently pursuing a degree in Broadcasting, Communications, or a related field (preferred).
● Passion for radio production, social media, and video production.
● Passion for Indigenous and mainstream spots.
● Basic familiarity with audio and video editing software is a plus.
● Skill with Office 365, Google, and Social Media Tools
● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
● Organizational skills and attention to detail.
● Ability to work well in a team and independently.
● Creativity and a willingness to learn and explore innovative approaches to content creation.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
