Job Title: Fleet Mechanic / Equipment Maintenance Technician

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fleet Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of our fleet of trucks and all company-owned equipment. The ideal candidate will be experienced in diagnosing mechanical issues, replacing parts as needed, and performing both in-shop and field repairs. Strong communication and basic computer skills are essential to ensure accurate reporting and coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trucks and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems
- Replace and repair worn or defective parts (e.g., brakes, bearings, hoses, pumps, etc.)
- Conduct field repairs when breakdowns occur on job sites
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance performed using computer software
- Coordinate with operations and management teams to schedule service work and downtime
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies
- Keep tools, equipment, and work area clean and organized
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanics preferred
- 3+ years of experience maintaining diesel trucks, trailers, and/or heavy equipment
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and welding
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation
- Basic computer skills for maintenance tracking and parts ordering
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus)
- Must be able to work independently and in a team setting
- Willingness to work in varying environments including outdoor field repairs
Working Conditions:
- Indoor shop and outdoor field environments
- May require occasional overtime and on-call availability for emergency repairs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
