Dock & Door Service Technician (Full-Time)
Fairborn Equipment is a growing regional leader in the service, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial doors and loading dock equipment. We're adding a skilled Service Technician to our team, someone who takes pride in their craft, works well with customers, and gets the job done right.
You'll travel to customer sites, diagnose and repair loading dock levelers, overhead doors, and related systems, and represent Fairborn as the face of our service operation. A company van and uniform will be provided.
What You’ll Do
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
- Repair and maintain dock levelers, overhead doors, and related equipment
- Perform routine maintenance such as greasing, adjustments, and inspections
- Read electrical voltages and identify system issues
- Document service work, parts used, and job notes using company-provided iPads
- Travel to customer locations to complete service calls
- Operate ladders, scissor lifts, and power tools safely
- Work independently or collaboratively with team members
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours service needs
- Identify additional repair or replacement opportunities and communicate with the sales team
What We’re Looking For
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Experience in mechanical, electrical, or welding work (2+ years preferred)
- Construction or electrical background is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Basic math and problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills
- Reliable, punctual, and results-driven
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Active, physical role requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- Work in a variety of environments, including extreme heat, cold, and humidity
- Occasional evening or weekend work as needed
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour (based on experience)

Schedule
- Monday through Friday (day shift)
