Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and caring Part-Time Companion Caregiver in,, available from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. This vital role involves providing personalized companionship and assistance to clients in their homes or community settings. Duties
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a friendly and engaging environment
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, and mobility support
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry
- Support clients with medication reminders and monitor vital signs when necessary
- Help with patient transfers using appropriate methods like Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques
- Provide transportation assistance for appointments, errands, or social outings
- Observe and report on client well-being, noting any changes in health or behavior
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient observation, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and hospice care practices
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality and privacy
- Ability to perform patient monitoring, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and first aid/CPR if certified
- Experience working with individuals with autism, neurodevelopmental disorders, intellectual disabilities or developmental disabilities support preferred
- Capable of heavy lifting and manual handling techniques necessary for patient transfer methods
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
