Lakesite Accounting is seeking a self-motivated and highly disciplined Bookkeeper on a remote, part-time basis for its bookkeeping team. The position revolves around managing the day-to-day and month-end bookkeeping for a diverse portfolio of clients.
The ideal candidate is someone who maintains the highest standards of financial integrity and finds genuine satisfaction in precision bookkeeping and accounting work.
Anticipated 10-15 hours a week to start.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain QBO / Xero accounting software programs
- Regular account reconciliations to ensure accounts are current and accurate
- Full-cycle account management from AP to AR and payroll for a variety of clients
- Maintain clean accounts with documentation and audit-ready digital files
- File sales taxes and 1099s
- Support year-end closing procedures including working directly with CPAs, tax attorneys and other tax professionals
- Ability to work remotely, independently and with a high level of critical thought
Requirements:
- 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a public accounting or multi-client firm environment
- QBO Pro-Advisor Certifications (I and II)
- Degree in accounting, finance, related field or equivalent experience/certification
- Demonstrated bookkeeping skills
- Must be U.S. based and eligible for work in the U.S.
- Availability during normal business hours
- Proficiency in Excel and digital document management
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently
- Excellent integrity, trustworthiness, and judgment
- Proven ability to engage with business owners & key employees in a professional, friendly, and helpful manner

Physical Demands
- Work is predominantly performed in a quiet to moderately loud office environment. Required to remain in stationary position 90% of the time, occasionally move about inside the office. Operate computer and other office productivity machinery such as copier. Position self to maintain files in cabinets, occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to accurately communicate information and ideas so that others will understand. Observe details at close range.
