Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and EXPERIENCED ASC Prep and PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our outpatient surgical center team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in perioperative nursing, with a focus on preoperative preparation and post-anesthesia recovery. This role requires a proactive approach to patient care, ensuring safety, comfort, and optimal outcomes for surgical patients. The RN will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional outpatient surgical services in a fast-paced environment. Scheduled 4 days per week. No weekends, No Holidays, No nights and No call shifts
Duties
- Prepare patients for surgical procedures by reviewing medical histories, verifying consent, and ensuring proper documentation
- Monitor vital signs, assess patient status, and manage airway and IV access during preoperative and postoperative phases.
- Provide advanced patient care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), including pain management, sedation monitoring, and complication prevention.
- Administer medications, including anesthesia adjuncts and analgesics, following strict aseptic techniques and hospital protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate discharge planning, patient education, and follow-up care instructions.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation throughout all phases of patient care
Qualifications
- Valid RN license STATE OF MARYLAND OR COMPACT STATE
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- PALS
- Proven experience in outpatient surgery centers or ambulatory surgery environments; prior PACU or critical care experience REQUIRED
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, IV infusion therapy, catheter care, and airway management.
- Familiarity with surgical procedures ORTHOPEDICS INCLUDING ALL TOTAL JOINTS
- Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and medical documentation standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting while maintaining high standards of patient safety and comfort.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a compassionate approach to patient care; teamwork-oriented mindset essential.
