We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our team at East Perry Elementary. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious and delicious meals for our students, ensuring that all food safety and hygiene standards are met. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines.
- Ensure that all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist in menu planning and food inventory management.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas, including proper storage of food and equipment.
- Monitor food quality and presentation, making adjustments as necessary to meet standards.
- Collaborate with school staff to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences.
- Maintain accurate records of food production and inventory.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities as needed.
- Assist with the setup and serving of meals, as well as cleaning up after service.
- Adhere to all school policies and procedures, fostering a positive and respectful environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items, as well as stand for extended periods.
- A passion for working with children and promoting healthy eating habits.
- Certification in food safety or culinary arts is a plus.
