EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Welds,usinggasand electric methods.

Repairs vehicle electrical systems.

Repairs vehicle body sheet metal, plastics, and paint.

Performs front and rear alignments and wheel balance.

Estimates time and material required to repair damaged vehicles/equipment.

Confers with insurance companies regarding damage and settlements for vehicle repair.

Maintains related paperwork.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Required Experience and Training
-
Two years of experience performing skilled body repair, frame repair, wheel alignment and balancing, welding, painting, paintless dent repair, and estimating on all types of vehicles/equipment. OR Completion of an automotive trade school or formal collision repair training program, plus one (1) year of experience performing skilled body repair, frame repair, wheel alignment and balancing, welding, painting, paintless dent repair, and estimating on all types of vehicles/equipment.

Must provide specified personal tools and a suitable container to ensure tool safety.

Must possess one ASE certification in B2, B3, or B6 at hire and obtain two additional certifications within twelve (12) months.

Ability to obtain a Kansas Class B CDL within twelve (12) months of hire. If you are a Canadian or Mexican citizen, you will be required to have or obtain a CDL from your home country.

A valid Driver’s License.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship.
Preferred Experience and Training
-
Two (2) years of experience performing skilled body repair, frame repair, front and rear wheel alignment and balancing, MIG/TIG or gas welding, automotive painting and refinishing, paintless dent repair, and written repair estimating on municipal or commercial fleet vehicles.

Current possession of three (3) or more ASE certifications in B2, B3, and B6.

A valid Class B CDL.
Please note that this position is part of a random drug testing pool, and employees are subject to random drug testing in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
Starting pay for current City employees will be determined by City of Wichita policy or applicable bargaining unit agreement.
