About the Role:
As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at Quincy Medical Group, you will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients restore mobility, improve function, reduce pain, and achieve their rehabilitation goals. This position focuses on orthopedic patient care and plays a vital role in delivering personalized treatment plans that support recovery and long-term wellness.
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time position, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM.
- No weekends, holidays, overnight shifts, or on-call requirements.
- Primarily based in Quincy with occasional travel as needed.
- Outpatient therapy environment with a strong focus on orthopedic rehabilitation and functional recovery.
Primary Responsibilities:

Implement treatment plans established by a licensed Physical Therapist.

Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, functional activities, and rehabilitation programs.

Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress, concerns, and recommendations to the supervising Physical Therapist.

Educate patients and caregivers on exercise programs, treatment goals, injury prevention, and home exercise plans.

Accurately document patient treatments, responses, and progress in the electronic medical record.

Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment.

Collaborate with Physical Therapists, providers, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated patient care.

Promote patient engagement and encourage adherence to rehabilitation plans.

Maintain equipment and treatment areas according to department standards.

Perform other duties as assigned to support department operations.
Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program required.

Current Illinois Physical Therapist Assistant license required.

Current CPR certification required.

Previous orthopedic rehabilitation experience required.

Strong knowledge of therapeutic exercise techniques, rehabilitation principles, and patient care practices.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.

Ability to motivate patients and foster positive rehabilitation outcomes.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $21.60 - $32.40 hourly with actual pay determined by experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through bonuses and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
