We are seeking a passionate and energetic Art Teacher to join our Enrichment Program for students in grades K-8. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging art curricula tailored to diverse age groups, incorporating techniques such as drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
- Plan and deliver interactive lessons that inspire creativity, critical thinking, and technical skills in students.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages participation.
- Provide individualized tutoring and support for students with varying skill levels, including those with special education needs or early childhood education requirements.
- Incorporate additional artistic disciplines such as theater, dance (ballet and dancing), photography, sewing, or culinary arts into lesson plans to enrich student experiences.
- Utilize classroom management strategies to maintain order while fostering a fun and motivating atmosphere.
- Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback and celebrating achievements to boost confidence and motivation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching art or related creative subjects within classroom settings or extracurricular programs.
- Strong background in curriculum development across various art disciplines including painting, sculpture, theater, dance, photography, sewing, or culinary arts.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and experience working with children from preschool through middle school levels.
- Excellent classroom management skills combined with the ability to adapt lessons for students with special education needs or early childhood education backgrounds.
- Familiarity with lesson planning tools and instructional best practices for working with students of diverse learning styles.
- Experience in tutoring or providing additional support to students in artistic or academic subjects.
- Ability to foster a safe, inclusive environment that promotes creativity and self-expression through behavior management techniques.
