Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of hair services including cutting, styling, coloring, hair extensions, and texturizing treatments with precision and flair
- Provide expert advice on hair care routines, products, and styling techniques tailored to each client’s needs
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by cleaning tools, stations, and ensuring a hygienic environment at all times
- Utilize salon management software such as MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently
- Assist with front desk duties including greeting clients, managing appointments, and handling retail transactions with excellent communication skills
- Upsell retail products such as hair care items, styling tools, and accessories to enhance client satisfaction and salon revenue
- Mentor junior team members by sharing expertise in areas like barbering, eyelash extensions, nail care, or makeup application to foster a collaborative atmosphere
Requirements
- Valid cosmetology or barbering license with comprehensive knowledge of sanitation practices
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry with strong skills in hair styling, coloring, and hair extensions
- Familiarity with salon software platforms like MINDBODY for appointment scheduling and client management
- Knowledge of color theory to create customized color treatments that complement each client’s features
- Ability to perform specialized services such as eyelash extensions or hair threading when needed
- Excellent communication skills to understand client preferences and provide clear recommendations
- Experience in retail sales and upselling techniques to promote products confidently
- Strong store management understanding to coordinate daily operations smoothly when required
