Job Overview
The Bartender is responsible for providing outstanding guest service by preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner. This role creates a welcoming atmosphere, maintains a clean and organized bar, accurately processes guest orders using the Toast POS system, and ensures compliance with all alcohol service regulations. Bartenders earn an hourly wage plus guest tips.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and provide exceptional customer service.
- Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and brand standards.
- Operate the Toast POS system to enter orders, process payments, split checks, and close tabs accurately.
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and balance the cash drawer at the end of each shift.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area.
- Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, and supplies as needed.
- Verify guest identification and comply with all local and state alcohol service laws.
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and practice responsible beverage service.
- Assist with inventory counts and report low-stock items to management.
- Work collaboratively with hotel staff to ensure an exceptional guest experience.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Qualifications
- Previous bartending or food and beverage experience preferred.
- Experience using Toast POS is preferred or willingness to learn.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktail preparation.
- TABC certification (or ability to obtain certification as required).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
Compensation
- Hourly wage plus guest tips.
- Tips are earned based on guest service and are distributed according to hotel policy.
Schedule
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
