Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment, including trucks, industrial machinery, and farm equipment. Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using schematics, automotive electrical systems, and mechanical knowledge to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain diesel engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, hydraulics, air brake systems, shocks & struts, and other mechanical systems on heavy equipment and vehicles.
- Conduct fabrication tasks such as welding and soldering to modify or repair equipment components as needed.
- Service a variety of machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailers, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and heavy trucks.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for assembly, disassembly, repairs, and maintenance tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform wheel alignments, tire services, and suspension repairs to ensure vehicle safety and efficiency.
- Maintain detailed service records and follow schematics for complex repairs involving hydraulics and electrical systems.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience or extensive background in heavy equipment mechanics is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and other industrial machinery.
- Ability to read schematics accurately and troubleshoot electrical systems effectively.
- Experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; familiarity with HVAC systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, alignment equipment, and diagnostic software.
- Knowledge of diesel engine repair including transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, shocks & struts is essential.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy machinery when required.
