Job Title: CNC Laser Machine Operator
Job Summary:
The CNC Laser Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC laser cutting machines to cut and shape metal and other materials with precision. This role ensures parts meet quality standards and production deadlines, while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines based on production specifications and engineering drawings.
- Load raw materials onto the machine and unload finished parts.
- Adjust machine settings such as speed, power, and focus to optimize cut quality and productivity.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines including cleaning lenses and checking alignment.
- Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions and make necessary adjustments.
- Inspect cut parts using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
- Record production data and report issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
- Follow safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with production and quality control teams to improve processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC operations is a plus.
- 2–5 years of experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment (e.g., Trumpf, Amada, Bystronic).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and CAD drawings.
- Proficient with measurement tools and basic math.
- Basic understanding of material types (e.g., stainless steel, aluminum, mild steel).
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Good problem-solving and mechanical skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Work Environment:
- Industrial manufacturing setting.
- May involve exposure to noise, dust, and metal particles.
- Use of PPE including gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots required.
