The Medical Assistant position provides the patient with their initial experience of the clinical department in the practice. Therefore, it is expected to provide exceptional customer service to the patients, guests and vendors at all times, regardless of the circumstances of a situation. This position is responsible for the efficient and accurate processing of patient information and both over the telephone and in person, responding efficiently to patients and pharmacy requests, following HIPAA guidelines.
Clinical duties include:
- Assisting with direct patient care procedures and related tasks
- Preparing examination rooms
- Greeting patients
- Scribing directly into EMR
- Assisting with exams
- Maintaining medications and supplies
- Communicating or placing orders for supplies as needed
- Educate and advise patients within established parameter
- Must follow HIPAA, OSHA and Clia guidlines at all times
- Perform miscellaneous job related duties as assigned.
This position would require candidate to work in Paramus and assist with coverage in Hoboken and Passaic when needed.
