Aircraft and Automotive Detailer
Job Description
Reports to: Ryan Wilson, Owner/Operator of Wilson Aviation
Basic Function: As an aircraft & auto detailer, you will be tasked with detailing high-end luxury aircraft and cars. Your job duties will require you to perform cleaning tasks on/in/around corporate and/or commercial aircraft as well as customer personal vehicles on occasion.
Executed tasks include polishing of brightwork, paint polishes, and sealants. Duties involving the cleaning of passenger cabins, lavatories, cockpits, and aircraft exteriors. You should be comfortable and physically able to work in various climates, weather conditions, with/on ladders, work stands, and various heights. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.
Hours vary depending on needs of the company and will require open availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Employees must be able to stay late or come in early to meet the demands of the operation schedule and workloads, and be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Ability to work with a team, professional, attention to detail, diligence, and the ability to meet time deadlines, Some Travel (Local and Regional)
- Complete cleaning of Aircraft or automobile interior and exterior, including polishing of aircraft painted and aluminum surfaces, paint Correction, metal polishing, prep aircraft for paint repair
- Clean and polish exterior and interior of aircraft or vehicles
- Condition leather, clean and polish wood, metal hardware and fabrics, and cleans upholstery, rugs and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators and cleaning devices.
- Sanitize galley surfaces as well as lavatory interior and exterior
- Follow Quality Management System procedures
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
- Follows all department safety guidelines and ensure proper usage of tools and personal protection equipment
- Other duties as assigned, but not covered herein include automotive detailing such as washing vehicle exterior, cleaning interior and exterior windows, applying wax to the auto body, and wiping or buffing the surface, vacuuming interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris, and all other aspects of automotive detailing work as well as other custodial duties of facilities as assigned
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Experience in Automotive detailing required
- Experience in Aircraft detailing a plus
- Must be 18 years old with HS diploma or GED
- Must passed drug test and background check
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to include close vision and depth perception, ability to visually focus and see colors
- Ability to use tools, equipment, and materials in the aircraft detailing process
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, grasp with hands, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl or maintain balance
- Ability to reach to heights up to 25 feet, climb ladders, stairs, and scissor lift equipment
- Ability to lift, and or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions, Most work is conducted in aircraft hangers that do not have climate control, condition include heat in the summer and cold in the winter.
