Job Description and Duties

As an independent journey level analyst under general direction of the Personnel Officer, the Analyst II works cooperatively with other Human Resources, Commission, and Control Agency staff to perform analytical assignments including recruiting, exams, classification and compensation, position control, and performance management.

New to state candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of the alternate salary range when applicable. Placement into an alternate range may be based on education or experience identified in your state application.

Desirable Qualifications

Human Resources education and/or experience.
Experience as a classification and compensation analyst in California state service.
Ability to independently perform, prepare, and submit classification and compensation analysis projects in accordance with CalHR requirements.
Knowledge of the examination and/or recruitment processes for the state of California and the ability to work effectively performing in these program areas.
Ability to set and follow a project schedule and strict deadlines.
Ability to effectively utilize Microsoft Office products.
Strong writing and organizational skills.
Reliable attendance and a motivated self-starter.

General Qualifications: Ability to adhere to the general qualifications outlined in California Code of Regulations 2 CCR 172.
