- The ideal candidate will be able to utilize the nursing process and their clinical experience to build therapeutic relationships that assist women and their families in attaining their goals.
- NFP nurses need strong physical, emotional, social, and environmental assessment skills.
- This NFP nurse will advocate for clients as they collaborate to find solutions.
- The nurse will actively participate as a team player, take initiative, possess strong organizational and time management skills, adapt to a flexible schedule, have strong communication skills, and practical leadership skills, and engage actively in personal development and quality improvement.
- The nurse will adhere to the Nurse-Family Partnership model of fidelity.
The Nurse-Family Partnership National Service Office, located in Denver, Colorado, is a nonprofit organization that provides services to communities in implementing and sustaining this program.(https://www.nursefamilypartnership.org/) Halifax Community College provides guidance and oversight for the Northeastern North Carolina Nurse-Family Partnership Program.(https://halifaxcc.edu/community/nurse-family-partnership/)
Minimum/Required Qualifications
- Current North Carolina RN license in good standing
- BSN degree (ADN will be considered with RN to BSN education agreement)
- Current CPR required
- Complete NFP Onboarding Educational Requirements within the allotted time
- Be willing to meet the requirements for employment at Halifax Community College
- Current and valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and automobile insurance.
- Preferred two years of maternal-child health, public health, or pediatric health experience either in the hospital, community health, or clinic environment, but will consider other candidates.
- Basic computer skills.
- Be willing to travel for professional development as required
- Be willing to travel within the service areas to provide care to NFP families
- Be able to work 38 hours per week
