American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Medical/Surgical Ortho position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of experience and prior travel assignment completion.

Medical/Surgical Ortho unit in a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center hospital
-
Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (3x12-hour shifts)

36 or 48 hours per week available

Team nursing ratios in effect — candidates are encouraged to discuss specifics with the manager during the interview

On-call required as needed

Weekend shifts required as needed; weekend block schedule may be considered

Floating may occur between like units and campuses within 20 miles, though cross-campus floating will be rare

Cerner EMR experience preferred

Active TN or Compact RN license required; no pending licensure accepted

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; 3+ years preferred

ADN degree minimum required for this position

Ortho nursing experience required

Level I Trauma Center experience required

Large hospital experience required

At least one completed prior travel assignment required; first-time travelers are not eligible

Driver's License required for consideration

Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of initial consideration — RTO requests submitted after an offer is made will not be approved and must be coordinated directly with the manager

If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment period, candidates must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 holidays; if only 2 fall within the assignment, at least 1 must be worked

Former permanent employees or internal associate travelers must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible to return as a traveler
